Year 6 French Trip - July 2016

Information on the Year 6 French trip 2016.

Sunday 10th July  5pm

We have arrived safely after a very smooth trip that included lots of chatter, laughs and eating.  The Hippotel is set in a pretty area surrounded by trees and next to an equestrian centre with horses and ponies of every shape, colour and size. All the children are settling into their rooms or playing pool before a special French tea tonight at 6pm. See the gallery below for pictures of our trip so far.

Monday 11th July 3.15pm

Everyone had a good sleep and after a breakfast of croissants and baguettes headed to the aquarium in Boulogne. See the pictures below of some of the creatures we saw.  Lunch was spent by the beach and then on to the sweet factory where pupils got to help make and then taste the naturally flavoured boiled sweets.

A quick break at the hotel now and then we are off to Le Touquet beach for a paddle and game of football.

Tuesday 12th July

Today we went to a real French market and the children enjoyed practising their French skills to buy things from the stalls. In the afternoon we went to a boulangerie to see how bread and croissants were made.  The scary baker insisted the children answered his questions in French and everyone laughed nervously, worried they would be picked next.

Wednesday 13th July

Today was the day we had been waiting for ... We had to venture into Belgium to visit the theme park.  It was a fantastic day but Mrs Nunn is still recovering from her roller coaster experience! Back at the hotel this evening it is time to pack and tidy ready for our journey home tomorrow.
